Why is my nose slightly crooked?
I am 28 years old, male. Recently, while looking in the mirror, I noticed that my nose appears slightly crooked. I am unsure what might have caused this. I have not experienced any trauma, nor do I have significant pain or discomfort—only a noticeable asymmetry in appearance. Should I be concerned about this condition?

A slightly crooked nose may be caused by various factors, including congenital development, trauma, nasal diseases, or lifestyle habits. Congenital developmental issues may lead to asymmetry in the nasal bone or cartilage, a condition typically noticeable from childhood. If there has been no recent trauma but the nose suddenly becomes crooked, it may be related to nasal conditions such as deviated nasal septum or nasal inflammation. Additionally, long-term unilateral sleeping or poor lifestyle habits may also lead to slight asymmetry in the appearance of the nose.
If the crooked nose does not accompany pain, difficulty breathing, or other discomforts, you may choose to observe for a period of time and monitor for any further changes. If the crooked appearance is significant or accompanied by other symptoms, it is advisable to seek medical attention promptly for a professional examination. Doctors may perform imaging tests or nasal endoscopy to determine the cause and provide treatment recommendations based on specific circumstances. If the deviation is caused by a deviated septum and affects quality of life, surgical correction can improve both appearance and function. If the asymmetry is only slight and related to appearance, there is generally no need for excessive concern or special treatment. In daily life, it is important to protect the nose from impact or pressure and maintain healthy lifestyle habits to support nasal health.
