Recombinant human interferon α2b gel is a topical medication primarily used for antiviral therapy. Its main component is recombinant human interferon α2b, a synthetic protein identical to the interferon naturally produced in the human body. It has antiviral and immune-regulating properties and is commonly used in the treatment of viral skin diseases such as genital warts, herpes, and related conditions.

As a topical medication, patients should begin using it on the third day after completion of menstruation, every other day, with continuous use of 6–10 applications comprising one course of treatment. Local application can enhance skin immunity, inhibit viral replication, and promote the repair of affected tissues. For viral skin diseases such as genital warts, herpes zoster, cold sores, and genital herpes, apply the gel daily to the affected area and massage for 2–3 minutes to aid absorption.

It should be used according to medical advice. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Pregnant and lactating women should use it only under medical supervision. During treatment, a balanced diet is important, and patients should avoid spicy and irritating foods such as hot pot and chili peppers, which may interfere with the drug's effectiveness.
