Can pregnant women eat loquats?
I am 21 years old and would like to know whether pregnant women can eat loquats.
Generally speaking, pregnant women can eat loquat, but they should consume it in moderation.
Loquat is rich in vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin A, B-complex vitamins, potassium, iron, dietary fiber, and other nutrients, which help enhance immunity, promote fetal bone development, and maintain normal body functions in pregnant women. Loquat has the effect of moistening the lungs and relieving cough; the amygdalin it contains can effectively soothe throat discomfort and reduce coughing symptoms, allowing pregnant women to breathe more easily and minimizing the physical strain caused by coughing that could affect the fetus.
The organic acids in loquat can stimulate gastric juice secretion and enhance appetite in pregnant women; dietary fiber promotes intestinal motility, prevents constipation during pregnancy, and maintains intestinal health. The sweet and sour taste and unique aroma of loquat can stimulate the olfactory and taste nerves, to some extent alleviating the nausea and vomiting caused by morning sickness and increasing eating comfort for pregnant women.
However, consumption should be moderate, as loquat is cooling in nature, and excessive intake may cause gastrointestinal discomfort, such as bloating, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Some pregnant women may be allergic to loquat, experiencing symptoms like skin itching, swelling, difficulty breathing after consumption, and should stop eating it immediately and seek medical attention. If any discomfort or uncertainty occurs, it is advisable to consult a doctor or nutritionist promptly.
