What is Longan Aril?
I heard that longan pulp is good for health, but I'm not quite sure exactly what it is. Is it the flesh of fresh longan fruit? What's the difference between it and dried longan (Guiyuan)?

Longan pulp, also known as dried longan aril, is a traditional Chinese medicinal material and food product derived from the mature fruit of the longan tree.
Longan pulp is typically obtained by removing the peel and seed from the longan fruit. It has a soft texture, a sweet taste, and is rich in various vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, longan pulp is warm in nature and sweet in taste, entering the heart and spleen meridians. It functions to nourish the heart and spleen, enrich blood, and calm the mind. It is commonly used to treat symptoms such as palpitations, insomnia, poor memory, and anemia caused by deficiency of both the heart and spleen.
For example, longan pulp can have a regulatory effect on individuals experiencing insomnia with vivid dreams and fatigue caused by deficiency of both the heart and spleen. However, due to its warm nature, excessive consumption of longan pulp may cause internal heat, so it should be consumed in moderation. Longan pulp is also an excellent ingredient for medicinal diets and is often combined with other ingredients in porridges and soups to achieve effects such as nourishing the blood, improving complexion, and enhancing physical strength.
When using longan pulp for medicinal or dietary purposes, it is best to consult the advice of a qualified physician or nutritionist to ensure safety and effectiveness.
