Black tea can generally be consumed after meals, but it is important to maintain moderate intake.

Black tea contains components such as polyphenols and caffeine, which aid digestion, stimulate gastric juice secretion, and help reduce greasiness from fatty foods. Additionally, the theaflavins and thearubigins in black tea have antioxidant properties that help eliminate free radicals in the body and may help prevent cardiovascular diseases.

The caffeine and aromatic substances in tea can refresh the mind and relieve fatigue, helping one stay alert after meals. Moreover, the antioxidants in black tea may positively influence metabolic processes, and long-term moderate consumption may contribute to maintaining cardiovascular health.

However, it's important not to drink excessive amounts of black tea immediately after meals, as the caffeine and other components may irritate the stomach lining and cause discomfort. Individuals with stomach conditions, in particular, should pay attention to the timing and quantity of tea consumption after meals, preferably drinking it about an hour after eating, and avoiding overly concentrated tea.

It is advisable to consume light tea infusions and avoid overly strong or excessive amounts. Daily black tea consumption should be limited to 300–500 milliliters. A light diet should be maintained in general, avoiding spicy and irritating foods.
