What causes lumps on the neck?
Recently, several lumps have appeared on my neck. They feel somewhat hard, some are movable, and there is also some pain. What could be causing this?

Lumps on the neck can be caused by various factors. Swollen lymph nodes are among the most common causes, typically indicating that the body is responding to an infection or inflammation. Lymph nodes in the neck area are particularly prone to enlargement when the body is fighting an infection.
Individuals with allergic constitutions may develop allergic reactions after exposure to allergens such as pollen or dust mites, which can lead to lumps on the neck. Eczema, related to genetic factors, improper diet, and chemical irritation, primarily presents as red papules, possibly accompanied by symptoms such as itching, flaking, and swelling.
Folliculitis, caused by weakened immunity and bacterial infection, results in localized itching and pain, and may lead to hard lumps on the neck. Sebaceous cysts are associated with blocked sebaceous gland ducts, presenting as localized redness, suppuration, and pain, with possible lumps appearing on the neck. Thyroid nodules, located in the front of the neck, can also cause neck masses due to any abnormalities in the thyroid gland.
