I’ve experienced some pain in the joints of my head for two to three years. After undergoing examinations, I was diagnosed with bone necrosis. Why does bone necrosis occur?

Bone necrosis most commonly results from avascular necrosis (i.e., ischemic necrosis). Numerous factors can cause bone necrosis—for instance, traumatic fractures that fail to heal adequately during treatment; chronic alcohol consumption, which over time exerts a toxic effect on bone tissue leading to necrosis; and prolonged use of corticosteroid medications, which may also induce bone necrosis. Patients suspected of bone necrosis should promptly seek medical evaluation at a hospital for comprehensive diagnostic assessment, followed by targeted treatment.
