Chapped and peeling lips may result from dehydration. Weather conditions also play a role—excessively dry weather combined with insufficient water intake can lead to lip dryness and cracking. Additionally, angular cheilitis may be a contributing factor; bacterial infection can cause angular cheilitis, resulting in cracked lips. In such cases, application of an antibacterial ointment may be helpful.
