What should I do if I develop a fever of 38°C after childbirth?
Disease description:
A few days after giving birth, I suddenly developed a fever. What should I do if my temperature reaches 38°C postpartum?
A postpartum fever of 38°C can be managed with physical cooling methods, such as alcohol sponging of the axillae, anterior and posterior chest, palms, and soles. Alternatively, tepid water sponging may be used. Additionally, drinking ample plain water helps accelerate metabolism and thereby promotes faster fever reduction. It is also advisable to visit a hospital for evaluation to determine the underlying cause of the fever. During this time, avoid wearing excessive clothing.
