Hello, elevated aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels may indicate hepatocyte injury, suggesting more severe liver disease. Staying up late can also cause a transient increase in AST. Potential consequences of hepatocyte damage include fatigue, lethargy, and excessive sleepiness; impaired digestive function leading to decreased appetite; and abnormal bilirubin metabolism resulting in jaundice. We hope the above information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
