How effective is ventilator therapy for snoring?
Disease description:
My husband often snores at night—friends suggested using a CPAP machine for treatment. How effective is it?
CPAP therapy is effective for most patients with snoring; however, it may be ineffective for a small subset of patients—for example, those whose snoring results from conditions such as tonsillar hypertrophy or rhinitis. CPAP can significantly improve sleep quality in affected individuals. Patients with severe snoring should seek prompt medical evaluation and follow their physician’s diagnostic and treatment recommendations.
