Nursing Care for Brainstem Hemorrhage
Disease description:
After undergoing surgery for intracerebral hemorrhage, I noticed slurred speech and drooling. Could you please advise on the nursing care methods for brainstem hemorrhage?
Brainstem hemorrhage may be caused by elevated blood pressure in the patient; therefore, blood pressure should be monitored regularly and maintained within the normal range. If the patient develops hemiplegia, nursing care must include regular repositioning (e.g., turning the patient at scheduled intervals) and appropriate massage to promote peripheral circulation. Additionally, attention should be paid to the patient’s personal hygiene. Dietarily, a low-fat, high-protein, nutrient-rich diet is recommended.
