Dr. Feng Tao
Patients with severe bronchial asthma may use prednisone acetate tablets during acute exacerbations. This medication belongs to the class of glucocorticoids; however, long-term oral administration is not recommended, as it may lead to hyperglycemia. Additionally, prolonged glucocorticoid use carries a risk of adverse effects, including avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Generally, glucocorticoids should be discontinued once symptoms have improved. For most cases of allergic asthma and bronchial asthma, inhaled glucocorticoid aerosols (local administration) are preferred. Regular hospital follow-ups and examinations are essential.
