When is the optimal time to start downregulation?
Disease description:
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for several years without success, and we are now preparing for IVF. I’ve heard that down-regulation injections are required—when is the optimal time to start them?
Typically, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist injections—commonly referred to as “down-regulation injections”—are initiated seven days prior to the onset of menstruation. This protocol helps improve the success rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF). After beginning these injections, special attention should be paid to diet: avoid spicy, greasy, and cold foods, and instead opt for light, easily digestible meals. Poor dietary choices may negatively affect subsequent ovulation and embryo quality. Additionally, maintain a regular daily routine—avoid staying up late—and ensure adequate, timely rest to support optimal physical condition.
