Causes of Poor Follicular Development
Disease description:
I really want to have a child, but I consistently experience problems with follicular development. I’d like to ask my doctor: What are the possible causes of poor follicular development?
Hello, poor follicular development may result from:
- Endocrine dysfunction, hypothalamic dysregulation of pituitary function, or abnormal ovarian hormone secretion;
- Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI): menstrual cycles may initially appear normal but later become infrequent and may eventually progress to amenorrhea;
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS): follicles fail to mature properly, thus requiring pharmacological intervention to stimulate follicular development;
- Pituitary disorders.
We hope the above information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
