What does blood glucose (Glu) mean?
Disease description:
I went to the hospital for a physical examination and received my health check-up report. The report lists “GLU” under blood glucose. What does “GLU” mean?
GLU stands for fasting blood glucose. This means the blood glucose test you underwent was conducted after an overnight fast. Normal fasting blood glucose is below 6.11 mmol/L; values between 6.11 and 7.0 mmol/L indicate impaired fasting glucose; and values ≥7.0 mmol/L suggest a preliminary diagnosis of diabetes. You may make an initial assessment based on your own blood glucose results.
