Introduction
If it is inconvenient to go out for a nucleic acid test, we can obtain a self-test kit for COVID-19 from our local community and perform the test at home. The specific procedure is as follows: First, use a swab dipped in normal saline to gently rotate and clean both nasal passages. Next, insert the nasal swab into each nostril and rotate it five times on each side, then place the swab into the sample tube. Finally, add the provided sample solution and wait 15 minutes before reading the result.

If you are unable to go outdoors for a nucleic acid test, you may obtain a self-testing kit for SARS-CoV-2 from your local community and perform the test at home. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. Sit comfortably. Using a clean cotton swab moistened with normal saline, gently rotate it inside both nostrils to cleanse the nasal passages.

2. Remove the nasal swab and gently insert it into one nostril to a depth of 2–4 cm, until you feel slight resistance.

3. Rotate the swab along the inner nasal wall five times, then withdraw it and repeat the same rotation five times in the other nostril.

4. Remove the swab and place its cotton tip into the provided buffer solution tube. Gently squeeze the tube 10–15 times to elute the sample.

5. Securely cap the dropper tip. Allow the sample tube to stand for one minute, then invert it vertically over the test card and dispense three drops into the sample well (S). Wait 15 minutes before reading the result: A positive result shows both T and C lines; a negative result shows only the C line.
