Introduction
Contact bleeding from the cervix may be caused by cervical polyps, cervical eversion, or cervical erosion. These conditions can occur at any age but are more commonly seen in individuals aged 13 to 50 years. Even minor contact can trigger bleeding, often due to unhealed cervical lacerations sustained during childbirth, induced labor, or abortion. Subsequent scar tissue contraction may lead to cervical eversion.

Cervical contact bleeding must be taken seriously, as it is typically caused by pathological conditions. Common causes include cervical polyps, cervical eversion (ectropion), cervical erosion (cervical ectopy), and cervical cancer. So, what exactly is cervical contact bleeding?

  What Is Cervical Contact Bleeding?

Cervical contact bleeding may result from cervical polyps, cervical eversion, or cervical erosion (ectopy). These conditions can occur at any age but are more frequently observed in women aged 13 to 50 years. Even mild physical contact—such as during intercourse or a gynecological examination—may trigger bleeding. This often stems from untreated cervical lacerations sustained during childbirth, induced labor, or abortion; subsequent scar tissue contraction can lead to cervical eversion. If the ThinPrep Cytologic Test (TCT) results are normal, cervical erosion is likely the underlying cause of the bleeding. For vaginal administration, Baofukang Suppositories may be used. In cases of cervical contact bleeding, prompt evaluation for cervical erosion is recommended, followed by a PVP (povidone-iodine staining plus colposcopy) examination. Treatment—whether pharmacological or surgical—should be tailored according to the specific diagnosis.

In daily life, avoid wading through rainwater. If clothing becomes wet, change promptly to prevent invasion by cold pathogens, which may induce blood stasis and excessive or persistent bleeding. Women should strictly regulate their diet and daily routines, cooperate closely with physicians during treatment, and aim for full recovery—free from disease—to achieve optimal health and well-being.

In everyday life, cultivate healthy habits regarding both lifestyle and diet. We hope this information proves helpful to you.
