Introduction
The radiation emitted by laptops is not significant. Radiation from computers is unavoidable, as any device that emits light or generates energy produces radiation—ranging from small items like flashlights to large ones like the sun. In terms of human tolerance, laptop radiation is relatively low. Additionally, other types of radiation, such as electromagnetic radiation from power supplies or acoustic radiation from fan operation, are negligible.

Laptops are a common tool for work and study in daily life, often considered an essential item for most people. However, some individuals are concerned about potential radiation exposure from laptops, especially during pregnancy. Do laptops emit radiation?

Do Laptops Emit Radiation?

The radiation emitted by laptops is relatively low. Radiation from electronic devices is unavoidable—any object that emits light or energy produces some level of radiation, ranging from small items like flashlights to large ones like the sun. In terms of human tolerance, the radiation from a laptop is minimal. Other types of emissions, such as electromagnetic radiation from power sources or sound wave radiation from fan operation, are also negligible. Combined, these emissions are still less than the radiation produced by a 15-minute mobile phone call.

Avoid prolonged and continuous use of computers, and make sure to take regular breaks. Maintain a proper posture with your eyes positioned 40–50 centimeters from the screen, ideally at eye level or slightly downward toward the monitor. Lighting in the computer area should be moderate—not too bright or too dim—and direct light should not shine onto the screen to prevent glare. The workspace should be well-ventilated and dry.

Try not to spend excessive amounts of time working in front of a computer. Computer users are advised to eat more carrots, Chinese cabbage, bean sprouts, tofu, as well as milk, eggs, animal liver, and lean meat, to supplement the vitamins needed by the body.
