Introduction
Thickening of the gastric antrum wall may result from physiological changes, gastric tumors, or infection with Helicobacter pylori. If poor dietary hygiene is maintained, leading to Helicobacter pylori infection, conditions such as peptic ulcers or chronic gastritis may develop. These diseases can cause inflammatory stimulation in the stomach, thereby inducing thickening of the gastric antrum wall.

Gastric antrum wall thickening may result from physiological changes, or could be caused by gastric tumors or Helicobacter pylori infection.

1. Physiological Changes

If the thickening of the gastric antrum wall is mild and no significant adverse symptoms are present, and it is only detected during a gastroscopic examination, this usually indicates normal physiological changes, primarily due to gastric contractions.

2. Gastric Tumors

When infiltrative gastric cancer or stromal tumors develop in the stomach due to factors such as improper diet, and timely and effective treatment is not administered, abnormal changes in gastric smooth muscle may occur, leading to obvious thickening and resulting in the aforementioned symptoms.

3. Helicobacter Pylori Infection

If poor dietary hygiene leads to Helicobacter pylori infection, it may cause diseases such as peptic ulcers or chronic gastritis. Inflammation in the stomach can stimulate the gastric mucosa, inducing thickening of the gastric antrum wall.
