Introduction
The specific life expectancy for lung adenocarcinoma depends on the individual patient's condition, with most patients surviving between 3 to 5 years. Lung adenocarcinoma, a subtype of lung cancer, belongs to non-small cell lung cancer. It tends to occur more frequently in young women, individuals with a smoking history, and Asian populations. The tumor is often located more peripherally in the lungs and typically grows at a slower rate.

Lung adenocarcinoma survival duration varies depending on the individual patient's condition, but the majority of patients have a survival period of 3 to 5 years. Lung adenocarcinoma, a subtype of lung cancer, belongs to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Unlike squamous cell carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma is more commonly found in younger women, individuals with a smoking history, and Asian populations. It typically occurs in the outer regions of the lungs and tends to grow more slowly. Early stages are often asymptomatic, so diagnosis usually occurs at an advanced stage.

Treatment for lung cancer is determined based on cancer stage, resectability, patient performance status, tumor histology, and genomic alterations, and mainly includes surgical treatment, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy.

For surgical treatment, the goal in early stages is cure. If imaging and biopsy confirm the tumor is resectable and the patient can tolerate surgery, procedures such as pneumonectomy or lobectomy may be performed, often using video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy may be administered based on pathological staging. In select cases of late-stage disease with solitary metastasis, surgery or definitive radiotherapy might still be considered. Palliative care aims to prolong life, maintain quality of life, and minimize treatment side effects.

For chemotherapy, first-line treatment for advanced or unresectable tumors typically involves platinum-based combination chemotherapy. Generally, no more than six cycles are recommended. Lung adenocarcinomas with specific molecular characteristics may benefit from targeted therapies.

Patients are advised to seek timely medical treatment at a hospital.
