Why does diarrhea occur whenever the body gets warm?
Experiencing diarrhea when the body heats up may be caused by dietary factors, indigestion, heatstroke, or other reasons.
1. Dietary Factors
Diarrhea triggered by body heat may result from consuming spoiled food, such as moldy or leftover meals. It could also be due to eating raw or cold foods—like ice cream, chilled beverages, or cold beer—that stimulate increased gastrointestinal motility.
2. Indigestion
Overeating, alternating between hot and cold foods, or prolonged emotional stress and excessive mental pressure may lead to indigestion. This can irritate the gastrointestinal tract, impairing digestion and absorption functions, thereby causing the aforementioned symptoms.
3. Heatstroke
Remaining in a high-temperature environment for extended periods may cause the body to absorb excessive heat, disrupting the thermoregulatory center. When excess heat cannot be dissipated promptly, heatstroke may occur. Patients may experience symptoms such as excessive sweating, weakness in limbs, dizziness, and headache. Severe cases might involve vertigo, nausea, vomiting, or even drowsiness and coma.
