Will you get a fever if you use air conditioning after taking a cold shower?
Fever usually refers to an elevated body temperature. Taking a cold shower followed by exposure to air conditioning may or may not lead to fever, depending mainly on individual physical condition and the temperature setting of the air conditioner.
1. No fever
If a person has a relatively strong constitution and the air conditioner is set above 26°C, taking a cold shower followed by exposure to air conditioning typically does not cause fever. On the contrary, cold showers can have certain health benefits, such as improving blood circulation, promoting skin metabolism, stimulating blood vessel contraction, enhancing vascular elasticity, and boosting the body's resistance and tolerance to cold.
2. Fever may occur
Individuals with weaker constitutions, especially those prone to respiratory infections in colder seasons, may develop respiratory infections after taking a cold shower. If they immediately use air conditioning at a very low temperature—below 26°C—after the shower, it could worsen the respiratory infection, leading to fever and other symptoms such as coughing and runny nose.
