Introduction
Sudden cramping pain in the abdomen and chest may be caused by conditions such as reflux esophagitis, cholecystitis, or acute gastritis. Additionally, it could result from gastric ulcer, pleurisy, or perforated duodenal ulcer. It is recommended to keep warm in daily life, maintain a light diet, and consume warm, easily digestible foods whenever possible.

Sudden cramping pain in the abdomen and chest may be caused by conditions such as reflux esophagitis, cholecystitis, or acute gastritis.

1. Reflux Esophagitis

Dysfunction of the lower esophageal sphincter or increased intra-abdominal pressure can cause gastric contents to reflux into the esophagus. The refluxed gastric acid, bile, and other irritants can damage the esophageal mucosa, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain and heartburn. This typically manifests as sudden abdominal cramps and chest pain. Medications such as hydrotalcite tablets, omeprazole enteric-coated capsules, and hydrotalcite tablets can be taken orally.

2. Cholecystitis

Secondary gallbladder infection caused by factors such as biliary obstruction or bile stasis usually results in sudden, severe cramping pain in the upper right abdomen. This pain may radiate to the right shoulder, back, or chest.

3. Acute Gastritis

Acute gastritis can result from various causes, including trauma or burns, and may lead to upper abdominal discomfort, vomiting, belching, and gastrointestinal bleeding. In severe cases, it can affect the chest area, causing sudden abdominal cramps and chest pain. Fasting is recommended. If there is severe vomiting or electrolyte imbalance, intravenous fluid replacement may be necessary. Additionally, if gastrointestinal bleeding occurs, endoscopic hemostasis can be performed.

Other possible causes of sudden abdominal and chest cramping include gastric ulcers, pleurisy, and perforated duodenal ulcers. It is advisable to maintain warmth in daily life, eat a light diet, and consume warm, easily digestible foods whenever possible.
