Introduction
The recovery time for patients after minimally invasive surgery for cysts depends on the severity of the cyst, the patient's individual healing capacity, and the size of the cyst. If the liver cyst is small, recovery typically takes about 2 to 3 weeks. For larger cysts, recovery generally requires 1 to 2 months. After surgery, patients should usually avoid strenuous physical activities.

1. Small liver cysts

When the cyst is small, if no serious complications such as intra-abdominal bleeding, bile leakage, or infection occur after minimally invasive surgery, and the patient has strong recuperative ability, normal diet and daily activities can typically resume within 2–3 weeks after surgery, without significant impact on the condition.

2. Large cysts

For example, after surgical removal of large renal or ovarian cysts accompanied by severe complications such as infection or bleeding, especially in older patients with poor recovery capacity, the recovery period usually lasts 1–2 months. Some patients may even require prolonged anti-infective treatment and regular wound dressing changes.

After surgery, patients should generally avoid strenuous physical activity and should not ride a bicycle home. Smoking and alcohol consumption should be avoided for at least one week following the procedure.
