Introduction
There are generally no quick remedies for rapid reduction of throat swelling. If the swelling is caused by long-term smoking, alcohol consumption, excessive talking, or eating large amounts of spicy and irritating foods, it is important to quit smoking and drinking, reduce talking, and maintain a light diet. If caused by acute pharyngitis, treatment may include cefaclor capsules or azithromycin tablets. If due to acute tonsillitis, treatments such as betamethasone injection or tonsillectomy may be used.

There are generally no quick remedies for rapid reduction of throat swelling. The appropriate method to alleviate throat swelling usually depends on the underlying cause, which may include non-disease factors and disease-related conditions. Common disease-related causes include acute pharyngitis and acute tonsillitis.

I. Non-disease factors

Throat swelling may result from long-term heavy smoking or alcohol consumption, prolonged voice use, or frequent intake of spicy and irritating foods, all of which can lead to inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa. It is recommended to quit smoking and drinking, reduce talking, maintain a light diet, drink plenty of water, or gargle with warm salt water to help relieve symptoms.

II. Disease-related factors

1. Acute pharyngitis

In cases of acute pharyngitis, inflammatory agents irritate the pharyngeal mucosa, causing mucosal congestion and edema. Under medical guidance, antibiotics such as cefaclor capsules, azithromycin tablets, or amoxicillin capsules may be used to eliminate bacterial infection and relieve throat pain and swelling.

2. Acute tonsillitis

Acute tonsillitis occurs when inflammation damages tonsil tissue cells, leading to fluid leakage and swelling. Under medical supervision, medications such as betamethasone injection, dexamethasone sodium phosphate injection, or hydrocortisone injection may be administered to reduce inflammation. If medication proves ineffective, surgical options such as tonsil挤切术 (tonsillotomy) or tonsillectomy may be considered based on a doctor's recommendation.

In addition, conditions such as thyroglossal duct cysts may also cause throat swelling. It is advisable to identify the exact cause and follow medical advice for appropriate treatment.
