Introduction
Symptoms of gastrointestinal candidiasis may include abdominal pain, bloating, and mucus in the stool. When Candida species overgrow in tissues such as the stomach and intestines, they may damage the mucosal and submucosal tissues, leading to frequent abdominal pain. Excessive Candida in the intestines can easily cause an over-fermentation reaction with food.

Candida generally refers to Candida yeast. Symptoms of gastrointestinal Candida infection may include abdominal pain, bloating, and mucus in the stool.

1. Abdominal Pain

When Candida overgrows excessively in tissues such as the stomach and intestines, it may damage the mucosal and submucosal layers. This can lead to frequent abdominal pain that progressively worsens over time.

2. Bloating

An excessive amount of Candida in the intestines can easily cause excessive fermentation of food, producing large amounts of gas. This may result in abnormal expansion of the gastrointestinal tract, leading to symptoms such as bloating, belching, early satiety, and increased flatulence.

3. Mucus in Stool

Inflammatory stimulation can affect intestinal glands, causing hyperactive secretion. This leads to excessive production of glandular fluid by the intestinal mucosa, which mixes with feces. As a result, patients often experience abnormal stool characteristics such as sticky or jelly-like stools.

In addition to the above symptoms, affected individuals may also experience other issues such as decreased appetite and black stools. If any of these adverse symptoms occur, it is recommended to seek medical evaluation promptly and receive symptomatic treatment under a doctor's guidance.
