Can a transvaginal B-ultrasound detect hydrosalpinx?
Generally, vaginal ultrasound cannot detect fallopian tube hydrosalpinx.
Vaginal ultrasound can only reveal changes in the shape of the fallopian tubes but cannot determine whether there is fluid accumulation. To accurately diagnose the presence of hydrosalpinx, a hysterosalpingography (HSG) examination is required. Hydrosalpinx is primarily caused by conditions such as ectopic pregnancy or salpingitis and may present symptoms including menstrual irregularities, dysmenorrhea, and increased vaginal discharge. Once diagnosed with hydrosalpinx, it is recommended to promptly consult a specialist and consider surgical treatment.
During treatment, adequate rest is important, abdominal warmth should be maintained to avoid chilling, and consumption of raw or cold foods should be avoided.
