What causes pain in the lungs when breathing deeply?
Pain in the lungs during deep breathing may be caused by conditions such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, pleurisy, and other reasons.
1. Pneumonia
The main cause is related to infections by pathogens such as bacteria and viruses, leading to inflammatory infection in the lungs. This may manifest as lung pain during forceful breathing, and some patients may also experience symptoms such as fever, cough, and sputum production.
2. Pulmonary Tuberculosis
This condition is primarily caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which can infect lung tissue, the pleura, as well as the trachea and bronchi. It may lead to the aforementioned symptoms, and some patients may also develop cough, sputum production, and hemoptysis (coughing up blood).
3. Pleurisy
This disease is associated with infections caused by various pathogens including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, resulting in inflammation within the pleural cavity. In severe cases, it may lead to pleural effusion and affect the lungs, causing typical symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, and cough.
In addition to the above-mentioned conditions, lung pain during breathing could also be caused by other diseases such as lung tumors. Patients are advised to seek timely medical attention and undergo relevant examinations such as chest CT scan or MRI for proper diagnosis and treatment.
