How to Use a Medical Oxygen Cylinder
The method of using a medical oxygen cylinder involves connecting the oxygen gauge and oxygen tubing, followed by oxygen inhalation, and finally closing the valve. Medical oxygen cylinders must be operated by trained professionals. The specific steps for use are as follows:
1. Connect the oxygen gauge to the outlet port and tighten it securely with a wrench.
2. Fill the humidifier bottle with purified water between the upper and lower water level indicators, then screw on the cap.
3. Connect the oxygen inhalation tube, open the regulating valve, and adjust the flow rate to the normal range. Once the float ball in the flowmeter stabilizes, gently insert the nasal cannula into the nostrils to begin oxygen inhalation.
4. When finishing oxygen inhalation, first close the cylinder valve. Wait until the float ball in the flowmeter returns to zero, then close the regulating valve and remove the nasal cannula from the nostrils.
When opening or closing the oxygen cylinder valve, perform the action slowly and avoid applying excessive force.
