The differences between stage 1 and stage 2 infant formula include different recommended age ranges, varying nutritional compositions, and different lactose contents. Formula should be properly selected according to the baby's specific needs to adequately meet their nutritional requirements. In addition to the above differences, there are also distinctions in energy-providing components. Breastfeeding is recommended as the first choice after birth; if formula feeding is necessary, ensure the baby receives sufficient nutrition.

The differences between stage 1 and stage 2 formula milk lie in the applicable age range, nutritional composition, lactose content, and other aspects. Formula should be selected according to the baby's specific needs to adequately meet their nutritional requirements.

1. Different适用 Age Ranges

Stage 1 formula is suitable for babies aged 0–6 months, while stage 2 formula is designed for babies aged 7–12 months.

2. Different Nutritional Compositions

Stage 1 formula contains richer nutrients, including various trace elements and calcium, with relatively higher protein content to support the baby’s growth and developmental needs. As the baby grows and begins eating complementary foods after 6 months, the protein content in stage 2 formula is moderately reduced compared to stage 1 formula.

3. Different Lactose Contents

Stage 1 formula generally emphasizes the baby’s digestion and absorption capacity, so it contains higher levels of whey protein and lactose. With ongoing growth, development, and increasing food intake, stage 2 formula can be introduced, during which the proportion of lactose is somewhat decreased and other carbohydrates such as glucose are added.

Besides the above differences, there are also variations in energy-providing components. Breastfeeding is recommended whenever possible after birth; if formula feeding is necessary, ensure the baby receives sufficient nutrition.
