What are the symptoms of stroke warning signs?
Stroke is clinically known as cerebrovascular accident. Cerebrovascular accidents can be further divided into ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke, with different symptoms arising according to the specific type. The details are as follows:
1. Ischemic Stroke
Ischemic stroke is usually caused by stenosis or occlusion of arteries inside or outside the skull. Before the onset, patients may experience transient limb weakness, or suddenly develop unilateral limb weakness, numbness, facial drooping, slurred speech, drooling, and other symptoms. Some patients may also show decreased comprehension ability and language expression difficulties.
2. Hemorrhagic Stroke
Hemorrhagic stroke is mostly associated with brain hemorrhage due to external trauma, aneurysms, or cerebral arteriovenous malformations. Patients may present sudden headache, drooling, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting—symptoms often resulting from ruptured blood vessels in the brain. Some individuals may additionally experience sudden loss of balance, difficulty walking, lethargy, or altered consciousness.
In addition to the common symptoms mentioned above, stroke may also lead to shock or coma. However, patients should note that not all symptoms necessarily appear, and other atypical symptoms may occur. If a person notices any abnormal physical signs, they should promptly seek medical attention for appropriate evaluations and follow doctors' recommendations for targeted treatment.
