Introduction
Oral administration of iohexol may cause adverse reactions such as headache, neck and back pain, and allergic reactions. Patients may experience headaches, and most will develop mild neck and back pain after using iohexol. In individuals with allergic predispositions, typical allergic symptoms may occur after administration, although these symptoms are generally mild. The body usually returns to normal within 48 hours.

Oral administration of iohexol may cause adverse reactions such as headache, neck and back pain, and allergic reactions. The details are as follows:
  1. Headache
Iohexol is primarily used for cardiovascular angiography, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar myelography, and joint imaging. When iohexol is used for myelography, patients may experience headaches. However, these symptoms are usually mild and typically resolve after rest.
  2. Neck and Back Pain
Most patients may experience mild neck or back pain after receiving iohexol. The discomfort is generally not severe and usually resolves with rest.
  3. Allergic Reactions
Allergic reactions to iohexol are uncommon, but individuals with hypersensitivity may develop mild allergic symptoms after administration. These symptoms typically subside within 48 hours as the body metabolizes and eliminates the drug.
In addition to the above adverse reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort may also occur. After taking iohexol, drinking plenty of water can increase urinary excretion, helping eliminate the drug from the body and reducing adverse effects.
