Introduction
In general, traditional Chinese medicine often uses bloodletting from the ten fingertips to treat conditions such as fever and sore throat. In such cases, acupoints like Shixuan (EX-UE11), Zhongchong (PC9), Shangyang (LI1), and Shaoshang (LU11) may be used. Taking the Shixuan point as an example, the specific procedure is as follows: First, locate the exact position of the Shixuan point. The Shixuan points are located at the tips of the ten fingers, 0.1 cun away from the free edge of the fingernail.

Generally, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ten-finger bloodletting is commonly used to treat conditions such as fever, sore throat, and swelling. In these cases, acupoints such as the Shixuan points, Zhongchong point, Shangyang point, and Shaoshang point may be selected. Taking the Shixuan points as an example, the specific procedure is as follows:

1. Locate the precise position of the Shixuan points. These points are situated at the tips of the ten fingers, 0.1 cun from the free edge of the fingernail.

2. Thoroughly disinfect the fingertips using alcohol or iodophor.

3. The practitioner fixes and stabilizes the patient's fingertip by pressing it between the thumb and index finger.

4. Sterilize a triangular needle, then puncture the fingertip to induce bleeding.

5. Wipe away the discharged blood and dispose of it properly.

6. After bloodletting, apply sterile gauze or cotton pad to press the site and stop the bleeding.

Although TCM ten-finger bloodletting therapy can effectively relieve certain conditions, it should only be performed under the guidance of a qualified professional. This helps prevent adverse reactions due to inadequate sterilization or overly deep puncturing.
