Introduction
In general, feeling dizzy and nauseous during sleep may be caused by factors such as lack of sleep, increased intracranial pressure, depression, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), or cerebrovascular diseases. Prolonged熬夜 or insomnia can lead to drowsiness accompanied by dizziness, and in severe cases, nausea and vomiting; increasing rest time is necessary. If a patient experiences severe dizziness and vomiting, prompt medical attention is required to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.

Generally, feeling dizzy and nauseous during sleep may be caused by factors such as lack of sleep, increased intracranial pressure, depression, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), or cerebrovascular diseases. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Sleep deprivation

Prolonged熬夜 or insomnia can lead to drowsiness accompanied by dizziness, and in severe cases, nausea and vomiting. It is necessary to increase rest time.

2. Increased intracranial pressure

Conditions such as cerebral infarction, brain tumors, or cerebrovascular problems may cause feelings of nausea and dizziness. Patients are advised to undergo brain examinations, such as a brain CT scan, to determine the underlying cause. Medications like acetazolamide tablets or losartan potassium hydrochlorothiazide tablets may be taken under medical guidance.

3. Depression

Individuals with depression may experience symptoms including dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, and excessive sleepiness. Patients can massage their cervical spine area during free time to help relieve vomiting symptoms. When feeling nauseous, they should try to control vomiting as much as possible to avoid excessive gastric acid secretion that could damage the stomach lining.

4. Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)

Also known as positional vertigo, this condition occurs when turning over during sleep changes head position, leading to symptoms such as dizziness, visual disturbance, nausea, and vomiting. Patients with BPPV should maintain a healthy diet, consuming fresh fruits and vegetables such as apples, cherries, lettuce, and tomatoes, while avoiding spicy and irritating foods like chili peppers, Sichuan pepper, and black pepper to prevent ear irritation. Adequate rest and sufficient sleep should be maintained, and overexertion should be avoided.

5. Cerebrovascular diseases

Conditions such as atherosclerosis may cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, sleep deprivation, and excessive sleepiness. Patients are advised to take medications such as vitamin B6 tablets, metoclopramide tablets, or flunarizine hydrochloride capsules orally as directed by a physician to alleviate symptoms.

If dizziness and vomiting are severe, patients should seek timely medical attention to avoid delaying treatment.
