Introduction
Urinary stream splitting may be caused by changes in urethral sphincter tension, increased bladder pressure, phimosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, chronic prostatitis, or other reasons. In daily life, it is important to maintain regular作息 (sleep and wake) patterns and dietary habits, avoid prolonged sitting, and engage in moderate exercise to support urinary system health and prevent issues such as urinary stream splitting.

Under normal circumstances, "two streams during urination" refers to urine stream splitting. Urine stream splitting may be caused by changes in urethral sphincter tension, increased bladder pressure, phimosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostate enlargement), or chronic prostatitis. Treatment can include general lifestyle adjustments and medication under the guidance of a physician. Specific causes are analyzed as follows:

1. Changes in Urethral Sphincter Tension

In men, changes in the tension of the urethral sphincter during urination may cause the urine stream to split. It is important to maintain healthy daily habits and avoid excessive tension or anxiety.

2. Increased Bladder Pressure

When there is excessive urine accumulation in the bladder, elevated bladder pressure may alter the shape of the urethral opening during urination, leading to urine stream splitting. It is advisable to develop a habit of regular urination and avoid holding in urine.

3. Phimosis

Phimosis may be related to congenital abnormalities, incomplete development, or balanoposthitis. It can increase resistance at the external urethral opening, causing the aforementioned symptoms. It may be accompanied by difficult urination and increased smegma accumulation. Circumcision, performed under medical guidance, may be required. This surgical procedure removes excess foreskin to expose the glans naturally, thereby improving phimosis and redundant prepuce.

4. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (Prostate Enlargement)

Factors such as aging, prolonged sitting, and excessive alcohol consumption may contribute to this condition. When the prostate enlarges, it may compress the urethra, altering the direction of urine flow and causing stream splitting. Symptoms may include difficulty urinating and frequent urination. Under medical supervision, medications such as tamsulosin hydrochloride sustained-release capsules, Qianlieshutong capsules, or Prostat tablets may be prescribed for treatment.

5. Chronic Prostatitis

Chronic prostatitis is primarily caused by poor dietary habits, infections, and other factors. Inflammation associated with chronic prostatitis may irritate or compress the posterior urethra, causing congestion and swelling that interfere with normal urine outflow, resulting in urine stream splitting. Symptoms may include increased nighttime urination and lower abdominal discomfort. Patients should follow medical advice and take medications such as levofloxacin tablets, doxycycline hydrochloride tablets, or celecoxib capsules as prescribed.

In daily life, it is important to maintain regular sleep patterns and healthy eating habits, avoid prolonged sitting, and engage in moderate physical activity to support urinary system health and prevent issues such as urine stream splitting.
