What causes pain inside the right ear?
Ear pain can stem from numerous causes, and these causes affect the left and right ears equally. Among the most common is acute otitis media, which typically presents as deep ear pain. Acute otitis media is usually caused by bacterial or viral infection, necessitating prompt anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial treatment.

Secondly, otitis externa—particularly when involving the deeper portions of the external auditory canal—can also cause ear pain.
Thirdly, eustachian tube dysfunction may lead to ear pain. This occurs when rhinitis or nasal neoplasms obstruct the eustachian tube, resulting in negative pressure within the middle ear cavity and causing a sensation of deep, dull, or pressure-like ear pain or fullness.
Fourthly, pain originating from the pharynx or throat may radiate to the deep ear region, mimicking ear pain. These are among the more common etiologies. Less commonly, localized tumors in or near the ear may produce ear pain as a presenting symptom.

If you experience deep ear pain, it is advisable to seek timely medical evaluation for a thorough ear examination.
