Introduction
Under normal circumstances, bayberries should not be consumed when there is excessive stomach acid, tooth sensitivity, diabetes, an allergy-prone constitution, or weak gastrointestinal function. When consuming bayberries, attention should be paid to selecting fresh and ripe fruits, and avoiding combinations with the aforementioned foods or medications that are not suitable for simultaneous consumption. At the same time, bayberries should be consumed in moderation to fully utilize their nutritional value.

In general, bayberries should not be consumed in cases of excessive stomach acid, tooth sensitivity, diabetes, allergic constitutions, or weak gastrointestinal function. Details are as follows:

     1. Excessive Stomach Acid: Bayberries contain large amounts of organic acids, which can stimulate gastric acid secretion. In individuals with excessive stomach acid, consumption may further increase acid production, potentially causing discomfort such as stomach pain, heartburn, and acid reflux. Long-term consumption under such conditions might induce diseases like gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers.

     2. Tooth Sensitivity: The acidic components in bayberries can have a certain degree of corrosive effect on the tooth enamel surface. For individuals with sensitive teeth, consumption may exacerbate tooth sensitivity symptoms, such as toothaches, which is detrimental to dental health.

     3. Diabetes: Although bayberries are not particularly sweet in taste, they contain certain amounts of sugars such as glucose and fructose, and have a relatively high glycemic index. Consumption by diabetic patients may lead to a rapid increase in blood sugar levels, which is unfavorable for stable blood sugar control and may consequently trigger various diabetic complications.

     4. Allergic Constitution: Some individuals may be allergic to certain components in bayberries. Consumption may result in allergic reactions such as skin itching, redness and swelling, rashes, oral mucosa swelling and itching, or even severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Individuals with allergies should be cautious when consuming bayberries.

     5. Weak Gastrointestinal Function: Bayberries are rich in dietary fiber. Although moderate consumption can promote intestinal motility, excessive consumption may burden the gastrointestinal system for those with weak gastrointestinal function or poor digestion, leading to symptoms such as indigestion, bloating, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

When consuming bayberries, one should choose fresh, ripe fruits and avoid combining them with incompatible foods or medications. Additionally, bayberries should be consumed in moderation to fully utilize their nutritional value.
