What Is Viral Hepatitis?

Viral hepatitis is an infectious disease primarily affecting the liver and caused by various hepatitis viruses. It includes hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, hepatitis D, hepatitis E, as well as hepatic lesions induced by other non-hepatotropic viruses.

Clinically, it manifests mainly as acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, fulminant hepatitis, and cholestatic hepatitis.
