Introduction
Normal uterine dimensions: The typical uterine length is 7–8 cm, width is 4–5 cm, and thickness is 2–3 cm. However, these are only average values; individual uterine size varies depending on height, weight, and body habitus, and there is no universally defined “normal” size. The normal uterine cavity volume is approximately 5 mL, but during late pregnancy, it increases by up to 1,000-fold.

The uterus is the most vital organ of the female reproductive system. It resides in the lower central portion of the pelvic cavity and has a triangular, inverted shape composed primarily of muscular tissue. The uterus connects to the fallopian tubes superiorly and to the vagina inferiorly, serving essential functions in embryo implantation and gestation as well as menstrual cycle regulation. The normal uterine cavity volume is approximately 5 mL; however, during late pregnancy, this capacity increases nearly 1,000-fold—reaching about 5,000 mL—and gradually returns to baseline after delivery.
