Introduction
1. Minimize stimulation—particularly avoid trauma and strenuous exercise that may injure the cyst site; additionally, maintain a light, bland diet. 2. Pharmacological treatment: During active renal cyst infection, pathogenic microorganisms are invariably present in the kidney; thus, the first step in treating renal cysts is antibiotic therapy. 3. Surgical treatment: Includes percutaneous renal cyst aspiration and conventional open surgery.

Renal cysts are a very common condition, which may affect either one kidney (unilateral) or both kidneys (bilateral). The exact cause remains unclear but may involve genetic factors or inflammatory processes. Most patients with renal cysts remain asymptomatic and are often diagnosed incidentally during routine examinations.

Treatment Options for Renal Cysts in Women

1. Minimize Irritation

Renal cysts typically produce no obvious symptoms; however, if a cyst ruptures, it may lead to hemorrhage or localized infection. Therefore, minimizing irritation to the cyst area is essential in daily life—particularly avoiding trauma and strenuous physical activity that could injure the affected region. Additionally, maintaining a light, bland diet and avoiding spicy or irritating foods helps prevent exacerbation of the cyst.

2. Pharmacological Therapy

When renal cysts become symptomatic, pathogenic microorganisms are often present in the affected renal tissue. Thus, the first step in treatment typically involves administering antibiotics. However, numerous medications are available for treating renal cysts; therefore, identifying the specific causative pathogen through appropriate diagnostic testing is essential before initiating targeted antimicrobial therapy.

3. Surgical Intervention

When renal cysts progress to an advanced stage, medical management alone becomes less effective, and surgical intervention should be considered promptly. Two primary surgical approaches are available: percutaneous renal cyst aspiration (cyst puncture) and conventional open surgery. Among these, percutaneous aspiration generally offers superior efficacy and a shorter recovery period.

The above outlines the main treatment options for renal cysts in women. We hope this information is helpful to you.
