Introduction
Patients experiencing acid reflux typically have excess gastric acid, which requires neutralization before being eliminated from the body to promote gastric health and alleviate discomfort. Insufficient gastric juice secretion can impair digestion and nutrient absorption, increasing the risk of gastric disorders.

Patients experiencing gastric acid regurgitation often do so due to excessive gastric acid production. Neutralizing the excess acid and facilitating its elimination from the body helps restore gastric health and alleviate associated discomfort. Specific contributing factors are outlined below:

① Hypochlorhydria (Insufficient Hydrochloric Acid)

Inadequate gastric juice secretion impairs digestion and nutrient absorption. Many foods require highly acidic gastric conditions for optimal digestion and absorption. Insufficient gastric acid may therefore lead to nutritional deficiencies, indigestion, or reduced appetite.

② Unhealthy Lifestyle Habits

Gastric acid regurgitation may stem from irregular daily routines. Many affected individuals report persistent fatigue, poor mental well-being, and heightened stress levels. Bacterial infection—particularly H. pylori—can further stimulate excessive gastric acid secretion, predisposing patients to duodenal ulcers and chronic gastritis, thereby increasing the frequency of acid regurgitation. Additionally, smoking, alcohol consumption, and frequent intake of spicy or irritating foods can also promote hypersecretion of gastric acid.

③ Pathological Acid Reflux

Pathological acid reflux may underlie recurrent gastric acid regurgitation—for instance, in conditions such as duodenal ulcer or chronic gastritis, where gastric acid production is abnormally elevated. Addressing and eliminating the underlying triggers is essential for effective management. Antacids—including traditional Chinese medicine formulations such as Wu Bei San (a compound containing *Armeniacae Semen* and *Pinelliae Rhizoma*) and Western medications like Weishuping (a generic antacid)—may be used to manage symptoms. The choice of specific medication should be individualized based on clinical presentation and patient-specific factors.
