Introduction
How long it takes for a blister on the foot to heal depends on its severity. If the blister is small and there is no infection or secondary injury, it typically resolves gradually—being absorbed, improving, and forming a scab—within 7–10 days with appropriate rest. However, larger blisters may rupture during friction or become secondarily infected; these require prompt medical attention.

It typically takes approximately 7–10 days for a foot blister to heal, though the exact recovery time depends on the severity of the blister.

If the blister is small and shows no signs of infection or secondary injury, adequate rest usually allows it to gradually resolve, improve, and form a scab within 7–10 days.

However, larger blisters may rupture or become secondarily infected following friction or abrasion, requiring prompt medical attention; otherwise, healing may be significantly delayed. If a blister ruptures due to friction, local erosion occurs, potentially leading to secondary infection—manifesting as erythema, swelling, warmth, and pain. In such cases, recovery may be delayed by approximately 10 days to two weeks. Without timely anti-infective treatment, healing may take even longer.

If a foot blister becomes infected, prompt disinfection with iodophor under medical guidance is essential, followed by topical application of erythromycin ointment or mupirocin ointment to prevent further spread of infection. During treatment, patients should maintain a light diet to avoid exacerbating the infection.
