Patients with diabetes should not take Houyanqing Oral Liquid. This is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, appearing as a brown liquid with a sweet-and-bitter taste and a cooling sensation upon ingestion. The recommended dosage is three times daily, 10–20 mL per dose.
Precautions: Avoid spicy, greasy, and irritating foods during treatment. Children, elderly individuals, those with frail constitutions, and pregnant women should temporarily avoid this medication. Patients with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, or renal disease should also generally avoid taking it.

During treatment, avoid smoking, alcohol, and spicy foods. Concurrent use of tonic Chinese herbal medicines is not recommended. Patients with high fever (body temperature >38.5°C) or markedly enlarged tonsils should seek prompt medical attention and receive systemic antibiotic therapy. Patients with severe chronic conditions—including hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, liver disease, or kidney disease—should only use this medication under the guidance of a physician.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. If discomfort occurs during treatment, consult a healthcare professional promptly.
