Introduction
Recurrent herpes outbreaks in the same location may result from incomplete treatment or unprotected sexual activity, among other causes. Herpes can be transmitted through sexual contact; thus, engaging in unprotected sex—especially with a partner who has active herpes—may lead to cross-infection and recurrent outbreaks. Herpes is typically treated with antiviral medications such as acyclovir or famciclovir.

Many people develop skin conditions in daily life—such as herpes—that recur repeatedly at the same site, causing significant anxiety: “Why does this herpes always appear in the exact same location?”

Why does herpes always recur at the same site?

Recurrent herpes at the same location may result from incomplete treatment or exposure to unhygienic sexual practices. Herpes is transmitted via direct sexual contact. Engaging in unprotected sex—especially with a partner who has active herpes—can lead to cross-infection and recurrent outbreaks. Standard treatment involves antiviral medications such as acyclovir or famciclovir. After successful treatment, most patients develop relatively durable immunity and typically do not experience recurrences under normal circumstances.

Herpes symptoms include clusters of fluid-filled blisters of varying sizes, predominantly appearing at the junctions between skin and mucous membranes—such as the lips, external genitalia, and perianal region. Early symptoms often include pain, itching, or burning sensations. Clinically, herpes manifests suddenly as multiple grouped vesicles on the skin—ranging in size from that of mung beans to red beans. In addition to itching, some patients may experience a distinct burning or scalding sensation.

Maintain proper skin care in daily life—keep the skin clean and dry. We hope this information is helpful to you!
