Introduction
After developing heat rash, frequent bathing is the first priority. Ideally, maintain a moderate water temperature and bathe with lukewarm water. During hot weather, when heat rash appears, bathing twice daily is recommended. Bathing helps promote perspiration and adequately cleanses the skin. Crucially, avoid using soap while bathing. After bathing, gently pat the skin dry with a clean towel.

It is widely known that heat rash (miliaria) is very common in children. However, it is not exclusive to children—some adults may also develop heat rash. So, how can heat rash be quickly alleviated?

How to Quickly Alleviate Heat Rash

Once heat rash appears, frequent bathing is essential. Ideally, bathe regularly using lukewarm water—avoid excessively hot or cold water. During hot weather, when heat rash tends to occur, bathing twice daily is recommended. Bathing helps promote perspiration and effectively cleanses the skin. Importantly, avoid using soap during bathing. After bathing, gently pat the skin dry with a clean towel. For enhanced prevention of heat rash, consider adding lotus leaves and aloe vera leaves to the bathwater. Once heat rash develops, apply calamine lotion or talcum powder (specifically formulated for heat rash) to affected areas—ideally after bathing. Dietary adjustments are also important: avoid spicy or otherwise irritating foods. Instead, increase intake of fresh fruits and water to improve blood circulation and accelerate sweating, thereby helping resolve heat rash more rapidly.

Heat rash can often be managed effectively using simple, non-invasive methods. However, if complications arise—or if you experience additional symptoms—do not self-medicate with over-the-counter topical medications without professional guidance. Instead, opt for specialized products such as heat-rash creams, lotions, or powders designed specifically for this condition.

Bathing with a diluted solution of Huoxiang Zhengqi Liquid or applying calamine lotion topically may help alleviate heat rash. Additionally, ensure adequate indoor ventilation and air circulation. If pustular heat rash develops—indicating possible bacterial infection—topical treatments such as metronidazole gel, erythromycin ointment, or mupirocin ointment may be prescribed.
