What can expired iodophor be used for?

Disease description:

My family has purchased some iodophor for emergency use, as we often get minor cuts on our hands. However, many bottles of iodophor end up expiring before being used, and it feels wasteful to discard them. Therefore, I’d like to know what expired iodophor can be used for.

If iodophor has expired, it is not recommended for further use. Medical-grade iodophor exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, effectively killing bacterial vegetative cells, fungi, and certain viruses. It is commonly used in clinical practice—particularly for disinfection of skin and mucous membranes—and may also be considered for use in cases of burns. In household settings, where usage volume is relatively small, smaller-package products are advisable. Always check the expiration date promptly to avoid using expired products.
