Blood pressure of 91–137 mmHg—do I need medication?
Disease description:
I have a family history of hypertension. My blood pressure reading today was 91/137 mmHg. Do I need to take medication for a blood pressure of 91/137 mmHg?
Blood pressure measurement revealed a systolic pressure of 137 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of 91 mmHg; antihypertensive medication is not currently required. To confirm the diagnosis, blood pressure should be monitored on different days, taking into account any other accompanying symptoms. If elevated blood pressure persists, antihypertensive medication—selected based on the patient’s clinical presentation and under physician guidance—is considered safe. Close observation over time is recommended.
