Elevated diastolic blood pressure accompanied by bradycardia has occurred. Please evaluate for primary (essential) hypertension or underlying cardiac dysfunction; ambulatory electrocardiography (Holter monitoring) is recommended. This presentation may indicate sinus bradycardia or could be secondary to myocardial ischemia. For patients with primary hypertension, oral antihypertensive medication is advised. Additionally, the need for surgical intervention should be determined based on the severity of the bradycardia.
