Recently, insulin injections at the hospital have been going smoothly; however, whenever I inject insulin at home, a bruise appears near the injection site on my abdomen each time. What causes bruising on the abdomen after insulin injections?

Injecting insulin can cause some degree of skin irritation; however, bruising is not normally expected. Its occurrence may indicate excessive skin sensitivity or, alternatively, an underlying hematologic disorder. Therefore, it is advisable to perform tests including a complete blood count (CBC), as well as assessments of bleeding time and clotting time. If abnormalities are detected, targeted treatment will be required.
